Winter Warmer Honey, Lemon and Ginger Tea

A delicious and immune boosting drink for that is ideal for this time of year.


Honey is great for its anti bacterial and anti viral properties to help boost the immune system. Manuka honey and raw honey are especially good, however you can opt for Maple syrup for the same sweetness if wanting the Vegan option.


Lemon is a great detoxifier, it is also great source of vitamin C another immune booster. Whereas Ginger is wonderful for the digestive system, sinuses and great in preventing heartburn (if this should be a problem you encounter!)

In general this health trio is always a winner and ideal to help combat flu symptoms and sore throats, plus it also has the added benefit of being great for the skin.

Ingredients:

Lemon Slices

Ginger, cut into small cubes

Locally sourced Honey, or Maple Syrup

Hot water

To make, simply add a couple of slices of freshly sliced lemon to a tall glass followed by a handful of the cubed ginger and about a table spoon of honey. Pour over with boiling water and leave to stew for a few minutes. Add a sprinkle of fresh mint if desired.
