Grapefruit and Rosemary sea salt scrub

Updated: Jan 6

This moisturising scrub is a fantastic exfoliant that invigorates and uplifts the mood whilst also aiding with circulation.

Fine sea salt contains minerals that reduce inflammation and exfoliates the skin by removing dead skin cells.

Olive oil is full of antioxidants and vitamin E. It is also inexpensive and in most people's cupboards.

Grapefruit essential oil is called sunshine in a bottle and is a great mood lifter.

Pure Rosemary oil eases stress and is good for circulation and inflammation, whilst fresh Rosemary is a rich source of antioxidants and helps with clarity and focus .

Ingredients:

1 jar with tight seal lid (recycled ones work great!)

A bag of fine sea salt

Olive oil (Sweet Almond oil or Sunflower oils are also good- choices of base oils. Choose whichever you prefer, or have in your cupboard.)

Pure Grapefruit essential oil

Pure Rosemary essential oil

Freshly chopped Rosemary

To begin, pour salt into your killer jar to get the exact amount needed it should be almost top the top. Pour the salt back into mixing bowl.

Add the oil a little at a time making sure all the salt is blended in. Less oil makes a more gritty scrub whereas more oil makes it super moisturising. (We would say as a go to use half the amount of oil as salt used, but it is is all about preference. Do see the pictures below to have a gander at our ratio and final texture.)

Add the essential oils, how much depends on your jar size. A small jar could take 10 drops of each essential oil, a larger jar 20 drops of each. Keep smelling as you add the oils so you can get the final fragrance you prefer.

Finally add the fresh rosemary, make sure it's finely chopped.

Blend well and transfer to the jar .

Add a few more drops of essential oils so the fragrance hits your senses as you open the jar.

Put a little rosemary sprig on top to garnish.
