Feeling a little dull after a few too many drinks over the Christmas Holls? This coffee scrub is ideal to exfoliate away any dead skin (and drunken Karaoke memories too, if you scrub hard enough!) Revealing fresh, smooth skin underneath thanks to the added help from the Coconut Oil.
Coffee is great for helping with circulation and bringing some life back to the skin's surface. It is also great to use first thing in the morning as the smell alone will wake you up and get you ready for the day. What I also love about this scrub, aside from it being really easy to make, is that it also helps with recycling old coffee grounds (we have been through a lot the past couple of weeks!) This recipe alone was just a couple of day's worth of used coffee grounds, saved and given a new life in shower form.
This recipe is enough for approximately a 500ml tight seal jar like I have used here, but in general if you are looking to make more or less, the ratio I find that works best is 2 part Coffee grinds to 1 part oil and 1 part sugar.
1 jar with tight seal lid (recycled ones work great!)
125g of Coffee grinds
65g of Coconut Oil, melted
65g of Brown Sugar
1 tsp of Cinnamon
I have added a tablespoon of cinnamon for a nice added smell but you don't need to. Alternatively you could add a few drops of orange or peppermint oil too to give a lovely refreshing scent.
Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl and decant into your chosen jar. Store in the bathroom and use every time you have a shower, you will notice the effects straight away.
