Cherry Cocoa And Chai Breakfast Smoothie

If you are looking for a powerful punch of extra vitamins in one handy smoothie form then look no further. This wonder food combination of cherries, raw cocoa powder, chai seeds and oats is full to the brim with antioxidants, calcium and vitamin c and ideal to give you a zing in your step during the cold winter months.


As well as being high in fibre thanks to the oats this smoothie also aids sleep due to the melatonin from the cherries, it is heaped full of potassium and magnesium thanks to the cocoa powder and the chai seeds and coconut oil are also great for a glowing complexion- winner!

Ingredients per large smoothie:

Approximately 75g of cherries (or a small cup full)

2 tbsp of Raw Cocoa Powder

1 tbsp of Maple Syrup (optional, but great for added sweetness.)

Approximately 50g of Oats (or half a small cup full)

2 tbsp of Chai Seeds

1 tsp of Coconut Oil

250ml of Almond Milk

I have been doing a bit of research into the use of using coconut oil daily, and whilst I cook with it regularly, I've also decided to add a teaspoon to my smoothies too as as the benefits are just endless:

  • It's anti inflammatory

  • Anti oxidant

  • Aids in weight loss

  • Anti fungal

  • GREAT for your skin

  • Helps digestion

Basically add a spoonful of this in your smoothie and you will not regret it!
